need to lose 73 lbs, will go 10% at a time, rewarding myself at each goal, like with jewelry! For instance.... I have lost 8 lbs. before signing up on Sparkpeople, so I am 15 lbs. from my first reward-jewelry, a stunning necklace I put on layaway at a cool local boutique. (Ultimately I will shop for clothing in this boutique, they carry nothing larger than a Large-- for now it's accessories and admiring the windows, as they have the kind of things I like for work)

I am also learning to feed myself, separating hunger from emotions, making healthier food choices, and getting off my duff and walking no matter the weather.

My Program:
Give an overview of what you are doing to meet your goals. I eat breakfast!! Most days it is cooked oat groats with prunes-- I am truly not hungry until lunch time, and well, the rest is obvious.
I am sticking to real food-- fruits, vegetables, whole grains, treat meat like a condiment rather than an entree.
I have some friends whom I have asked to hold me accountable and I report my progress.

I had an extremely emotional day, and still did not go running for the chocolate, cake, or biscuits & gravy, or anything resembling toxic comfort food. I can't explain how I kept my grip, but I realized that I might have a few moments comfort, but after I indulged, I would end up feeling worse than I already did, and I went and found healthy ways to cope. I feel empowered!
