Running my butt off

I look in the mirror, I see someone healthy and fit. I go out and run and I feel young and energetic. Then I step on the scale or take a so called "Fitness Test" and I am categorized as a Fat Slob.

I read your comment on the diabetes article, and I also don't understand how having large babies puts me at risk. I had the glucose tolerance tests and was normal during my pregnancies.

I have recently had a high fasting blood sugar and they are concerned I may have diabetes. I already eat a healthy diet and there is no family history. I really don't know where this is coming from.

I see the endocrinologist in June.

Hi, I just saw your comment on the step test... I don't know if someone's already answered it but I'll give it a go.

The numbers in the chart are the total BPM of your heart after one minute of exercising. You say you had a heart rate of 130 immediately after, but because you're in such good shape it probably dropped back to normal pretty quickly putting your *total* beats during the minute of rest probably a lot lower than 130.

Hope this helps!

after I run today - I will be running on the treadmill while watching Biggest Loser which I have recorded - it will be day 77. :-) If we were neighbors and running buddies you wouldn't need to speed up much I would gladly run at your pace. Yesterday evening it was beautiful - perfect for running and watching the sun set. I wanted to go out (I had run 4 earlier that morning) but I wanted company...someone to chat with - I didn't feel like doing it alone so I didn't go. Why do all my bestest running buddies live so far away. gail
