I'm Lisafaz, and I'm hoping to shed quite a few pounds over time. I'm not giving myself a real time limit, because it's more important to me to lose in a healthy way than a quick way.
If you can't make it better, you can laugh at it.
I'm not thinking"I'm too fat! My life will change if I lose weight!", really I'd just rather feel better physically than anything else. If you check out my pictures here, you can probably tell that I think I'm pretty cute already... I'm just not a comfortable as I want to be while moving around.
New interim goal: 250. I'll buy a cute new outfit and announce to everyone how much weight I've lost. I'll also wear my tiara ALL DAY.
Here is my ultimate goal: to go on a road trip with no overnight bag (well, some undies) and buy clothes at Goodwill stores along the way with no problem finding the right size. That will be one hell of a trip!
I have an actual program now. I'm logging my foods, trying my best to stay within the ranges Sparkpeople recommends. I'm sticking to my cardio regime, upping the minutes every few weeks. I'm' adding to my strength training. I'm trying to offer myself a wider variety of healthy food choices. And I'm really thinking about how I feel when I am full... and stopping there.
I live in WNC, but I'm originally from Ohio. When I was a kid, I was put on a doctor supervised liquid diet (UGH!) and lost a ton of weight, then gained it back, then went back on that diet when I was about 20, then gained all of it and more back, and you can see where this goes. I've been every size from 6 to 26. Besides being very hard on one's body, it can screw you up emotionally, too. I'm trying to work that out now.
I'm a reader.
Do you know the Blind Melon song from a few years back, "No Rain"? The one with the video of the bee girl? Well, this is my lyric:
"And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away, but it's a great escape..."
What's the best book you've read lately? I'm always up for a new one. Some of my favorites are The Beach (as in the crappy Leo DiCaprio movie), Shantaram (fantastic story. Read it!), The Very Best Awful (the life of a bipolar is always interesting!) and Oryx & Crake (it's the end of the world as we know it...).
