I am 46 years old, married for 21 years in July, 2014. I have a 20 year son, who is my world. I have been overweight since I turned 11 years old. As a teenager, I joined Weight Watchers and lost 12 lbs. We couldn't afford it, so I continued to gain weight, Most of my early ages, I weighed about 150 lbs. Then I got pregnant; and he was BIG. After that it was 165 +.
In 2004, I had a blood clot in my leg. I was in the hospital for a month. I lost about 20 lbs. from about 200. After I got out of the hospital, I was told to lose the weight or the clots would come back. I lost down to 155.
Two years later, I begin to gain again. My dad died. I just gave up on eating right. I went up gradually to 209 around 2013.
My mom was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2006, but beat it.
In 2013, it came back, she couldn't beat it. She went on hospice Apr 2013. That's when I really started gaining.
In January 2014, my husband decided he needed to lose weight, so I said "OK, Let's go for it!" So we started our weigh in on a Sunday morning.
That first month I went down to 180.8 (16 lbs.). But my mom died on Feb 21 (day after her 76th birthday). That is so hard on me. We were SOOO close. I have lost 3 more lbs since then, but have been about 177 for 3 weeks.
I now have so many health problems that my weight could kill me if I don't control it. That is what I think.
I was diagnosed with Lupus about 1 1/2 years ago. Also Sjogren's Syndrome. On March 25 (2 1/2 wks ago) I had a mini-stroke. That don't know why I have a blood clot in my brain. All exams on heart and main arteries are normal.
So I am going to keep trying. I have to. So.....

I want to change my lifestyle, how I eat, how I present myself
I need to become healthier.
I want self confidence and control.
I started back on my weight loss in January 2014. I was about 209 lbs., the highest I have ever been. My husband wants to lose weight also. We change how we eat food, some of what we eat. He continues to eat unhealthy foods, but I try to eat healthier.
My health makes it hard for me to cook every night, so we "snack". I try to eat healthy snack.
As of weigh in Sun, Apr 6, 2014, I weighed 177.8. I have been at that weight for 3 weeks.
I love to read Christian related books. I love Janette Oke books.
I love to walk, but my husband won't let me go alone. He won't go most of the time. I have nobody to go with me.
I work at a fast food restaurant, but don't eat much there. I only work in the mornings, so I wait til I get home.
