I started using Spark People in the summer of 2007 and managed to lose 40 pounds in 5 or 6 months. Accomplishing an important goal like that really helped change the way I saw myself and life.
I'm still using Spark People to help me try and stay on track, hold myself accountable, and keep implementing good habits.
To anybody just starting out on this journey, consistency is key. There is no secret, magic potion, pill, or fad diet that will make everything quick and easy. Commit to making a POSITIVE change in your life, for life, and keep at it and you will find what you're looking for. I have no set program. Too many "rules" always end up making me want to rebel against them. So instead I'm just trying to learn self control and consistency. I don't intend to deprive myself for the rest of my life, so why would I do it for a few months in order to lose weight?
Here's to a new me for LIFE!
I looove to eat, especially out at fancy restaurants. I also love high calorie desserts (and i hate to share them! hehe).
I'm constantly setting goals and never reaching them, or making plans that I always give up on. This time will be different and it will be the last time I ever go through this!
I want to reach my goals now and still look just as good after kids, menopause, w/e! haha
