I have had a weight problem ever since I was a child. I remember how focused my family was on it. When I was in fifth grade, I met a pediatrician who got me a diet I could manage myself and I became pretty empowered and lost a great deal of weight. When I went to college, when most people gain weight I lost and kept it off pretty well until after my first child. About the age of 40, I mentally became tired and threw in the towel. Unfortunately the pounds started to sneak up on me. At 55 I got on the scale and realized I could be considered obese. Also my blood pressure was up and my liver enzymes and my calcium levels were out of whack. I knew I had to gain control again, or I won't be able to enjoy my grandchildren.

I been with Spark People for just over four years now. I am not where I want to be but my doctors have seen a radical improvement in all the things that were going bad. I am still working toward my goal weight but enjoying life as it comes. I appreciate all the support that I have received from my Spark Friends and am committed to keep at it.

Oh, you will enjoy Downton's new season! Didn't know you were a fan too. I may watch it over. Like those restful Sunday evening TV watching too! Glad you are liking my photos. I sure hate to hear you are that cold now! Yikes! We are warmer this winter than ever before..record breaking temps. UGH! But, really not complaining, that is why I moved to FL. to get away from winters like you're having right now. Hang in there...spring will be here before you know it. I mean, look how fast 2105 went by! emoticon emoticon

I get so cold anymore...it is way different down here on how the cold effects us. Anything below 55 has my teeth shattering! I can be outside with layers on, but can't stay out in it too long! Really weird! I see you are not included with the record warmth so many are having. Or maybe that is record warmth having rain instead of snow!
I am taking a bit of a spark break. Had skin surgery yesterday and not feeling tip top right now. So have a good rest of the week. Stay warm. emoticon emoticon

emoticon 20?! I haven't felt 20 degrees for 6 years! Believe it or not, that happened here in FL! To me it felt like 20 below zero. Stay warm up there! Do you have one of those snuggies with the arms & the tall neck...love mine!! When I am watching TV, every time I use it I start to fall asleep! emoticon

Looking at the snowy pic today, makes me feel cooler on this freaky hot 86 degree here in FL! Stay warm! In a way, I am not looking forward to the cooler weather, but then again, I really AM! Never seen it so hot here in December!
If you want to see the wild twin baby manatee pics -see my new blog. They are really cute and so rare...really was thrilling to see them! emoticon
