I have had a weight problem ever since I was a child. I remember how focused my family was on it. When I was in fifth grade, I met a pediatrician who got me a diet I could manage myself and I became pretty empowered and lost a great deal of weight. When I went to college, when most people gain weight I lost and kept it off pretty well until after my first child. About the age of 40, I mentally became tired and threw in the towel. Unfortunately the pounds started to sneak up on me. At 55 I got on the scale and realized I could be considered obese. Also my blood pressure was up and my liver enzymes and my calcium levels were out of whack. I knew I had to gain control again, or I won't be able to enjoy my grandchildren.

emoticon Throwing steaks on the grill at 32 degrees! You are die hard northerners aren't you? I swear the cold is different down here. I have been in 30 below zero in Ohio and that was cold of course, but here 32 degrees feels like at least zero. It is a weird phenomenon! Everyone says that here. Must be the humidity or something.
Hope you had a nice day...no overeating I hope! emoticon

The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment then where is it to be found? ~J.B. Priestley

Except when you get 32-47 inches of it!! Glad you were in the part of the state that didn't get all that. The video we see of it on the Weather Channel is so awful. Especially about the cattle that got killed. Nature at it's worst! So glad I don't have to deal with snow anymore!
Have a good day! Stay warm and safe! emoticon

emoticon Glad you enjoyed the beach blog! That was by far the most gorgeous beach we have seen in FL...so remote and untouched by tons of people!! We hardly see corn growing down here...mostly the orange groves and even they are dying out by these freaky cold snaps they have had over the past 20 or more years!
Have a nice weekend! emoticon
