I have had a weight problem ever since I was a child. I remember how focused my family was on it. When I was in fifth grade, I met a pediatrician who got me a diet I could manage myself and I became pretty empowered and lost a great deal of weight. When I went to college, when most people gain weight I lost and kept it off pretty well until after my first child. About the age of 40, I mentally became tired and threw in the towel. Unfortunately the pounds started to sneak up on me. At 55 I got on the scale and realized I could be considered obese. Also my blood pressure was up and my liver enzymes and my calcium levels were out of whack. I knew I had to gain control again, or I won't be able to enjoy my grandchildren.

I been with Spark People for just over six years now. I am not where I want to be but my doctors have seen a radical improvement in all the things that were going bad. I am still fighting with my liver, but have made changes that will help that situation. I had a very emotional year a while ago and gained back a good chunk of what I lost. I try not to dwell on that. I am still working toward my goal weight but enjoying life as it comes. I appreciate all the support that I have received from my Spark Friends and am committed to keep at it.

emoticon Glad you stopped by my blog and for the very nice comment. I may not be on as much this next couple weeks. Got a lot to do with vacation coming up and may have to use it as an evacuation for Hurricane Irma, that looks like it will directly hit FL as a CAT 3 or above end of next week. This is so nerve racking! emoticon
Enjoy your week...wish i lived up there now! emoticon

Did you get to see any of the eclipse today? We saw the partial here. Was really cool to see it through the special glasses. Hope you are doing good these days! I am finally over my sinus/respiratory infection and now Bob has it! Sigh.
Have a good week! Glad you liked the sunset pic! Thanks! emoticon

That was so nice of you to say I have a gift with my photo taking. Glad you liked the sunset. I think the sunsets where we go are the best we have ever seen! My fave thing to take photos of! Hope your weekend was good! Ours was busy, but fun, now I am super tired. emoticon

That's good you made sure Bella and Capone got along. When we got our second dog, we didn't know is they would get along. They did and when the young one acted up, even though he was 3 times the size of her, she would do a body slam to the ground and growled at him! It was hilarious how he behaved after that! Dogs have a funny way of communicating with each other. I think Bella rolling her eyes, so to speak, is one indication of that. Sounds cute!
Now you have two dogs to keep you active! emoticon emoticon
