Need to lose lots of weight and eat more healthily. The fact that I suffer from an autoimmune disease makes this more important and more difficult. For years, I've eaten processed foods for convenience, which has helped to make me gain and to have high levels of inflammation. So, I am trying to change not only calorie intake but processed food intake - while trying to keep it simple to prepare. Not easy!

My Goals:
Long, long term - to automatically eat healthy food, to not "self-medicate" with any type of food, to be fit enough to do normal things; to be a normal weight. Long term: 1. To start an upward spiral by learning to set and obtain goals in various areas 2. To go from the "mordidly obese" to "severly obese" category (well, you have to start somewhere!) 3. To be able to serve God and people when the opportunity presents itself and not be kept from doing so by being so out of shape.
My Program:
1. Eat more healthily a. More vegetables b. More fruits c. More healthy fats d. Avoid processed foods, whenever possible 2. Lose weight 3. Exercise a. Yoplates b. Pool, in season1
Personal Information:
I am originally from Kansas. I have lived in many states and two countries. I plan to stay where I am now, though -- Arizona. I am happily married with two grown sons. I am a Christian. I enjoy reading almost anything, the internet, history, theology,and star watching (the kind in ths sky, not Hollywood!).
Other Information:
I am chronically ill which has both contributed to my weight (low thyroid and certain meds) and made it difficult to diet (I have a lot of pain and fatigue). I'm especially on the lookout for easy to prepare recipes that are made with whole foods. The diseases I have are called Undifferentiated Connective Tissure Disease (UCTD), secondary fibromyalgia and Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
