I am 55 , married mother of a 20 year old son. I am 50 pounds overweight. According to Spark People I can lose 50 pounds by 3/3/2010. That would be wonderful!!! I have not had too much success losing weight, but it's time for that to change!

My Goals:
I seem to have lost myself over the last few years, I would like to find the happy, confident woman I used to be. My goals are to lose some weight and gain some confidence.

My Program:
I am taking things one day at a time. Keeping track of my food intake, drinking water, and moving more. Checking in with SparkPeople everyday for encouragement and help.

Personal Information:
I am from Illinois. I am a conservative Christian woman. Unfortunately I have lost some of my "spark". I figured I could find it here!

Thank you for your reassuring and kind comment. I really don't understand men sometimes! They make me so mad a lot of the times. I just can't believe he was so mad over a flat tire. Yes, it is extra money coming out this month, but, it is just a tire. I really wish men would have more comforting levels on them!

Hello fellow Sparker. I see you're looking for support as am I.
I don't feel like much of a poster child just now, but I can tell you that you are not alone.
I have made a list of all the reasons I want to lose weight and as of just today, I am making it a habit to review this list 2-3 times a day. It does seem to help me.

Thank you for coming by and visiting my spark photo album. I am glad you found some inspiration there.

Starting a new habit isn't easy - I have found that choosing positive activities in an intentional way (rather than let the day wash over me and overwhelm me) sets the ball in motion. It might take something as concrete as writing the commitment to walk everyday into a journal to make it happen but - choosing to do it is always going to be the first step.
