Good Health: Giving up is not an option

I have been on weight watcher since 2009, lost 30 lbs, had a long plateau (over a year). During the plateau, I was dealing with a 3 wk hospitialization one of my daughters, the death of one of my brothers, the 7 wk hosptialization of another brother and his long recovery, taking me away from home daily for months. I have been on weight watcher since 2009, lost 30 lbs, had a long plateau (over a year). During the plateau, I was dealing with a 3 wk hospitialization one of my daughters, the death of one of my brothers, the 7 wk hosptialization of another brother and his long recovery, taking me away from home daily for months. I got away from tracking food and regained 15 lbs. In March 2012, I went back to my WW meetings, started tracking and doing zumba when I was home. My weight loss was slow, plateau slow. I felt like I wasn't losing. By Sept. I was so discouraged I was ready to quit. But then I looked back at my weight tracker and found out I'd lost 10 lbs since March! That encouraged me to keep going. I was making progress! I increased exercise time and intensity. I've lost about 15 lbs since then, making my weight loss so far over 40 lbs.
Then I had a blood test recently that showed "pre-diabetic", bad cholesterol too high, good cholesterol low normal, dr. wants it higher. So I needed more information about the foods I'm eating. So here I am on Sparkpeople tracking my food, still following what I learned on WW and still a member. Right now I feel scattered. I'm doing pretty much all the recommendations for my health conditions but want to get my numbers in a good range and I'm trying to educate myself what I can do to improve things..
