On my way home to me

Trying to regain healthy living habits left behind when I moved to the US. I am becoming more and more myself again after years of being overweight.

Loving myself, honoring food, and listening to what I really need to be happy is creating a while new lifestyle.

My Goals:
I want to get stronger and healthier and have more energy. I want to live a long life, and be able to run and do Ballroom Dancing!

My Program:
Gym 3 to 6 times a week and 1700 calories got me through the first 30 pounds. Added personal trainer when I plateaued after a year, now losing inches. I no longer get on the scale much, but was 254 last time I went to the doctor for my annual physical. Total loss: 51 pounds so far. In 2008 I have added NIA.

Personal Information:
Born a Leo in 1967 in Trondheim, Norway. Married Matt from Idaho in 1998, mom to beautiful and independent daughter currently living in Chicago.

Other Information:
I want to be the 5% person that does NOT gain the weight back, so I go slow at times to try to make it a lifestyle change.

I have copied the reply you made to TurboMel for her birthday. I have been bouncing myself for the past few months, this month being the worst. I cannot seem to find my lost motivation. I feel as though any goal I set is half-hearted, because I fear I'll not succeed. Your post was an encouragement. Thanks, Trece

Thanks for the comments and goodies, you guys!

I stopped having time to be on Sparkpeople for a while due to a grueling schedule!

I still work out with my trainer twice a week, and have now lost a full dress size in 2 months. Mostly building muscle instead of fat, which has given me a whole new look. Eating has become almost something I don't think about anymore. If I splurge, I automatically adjust, I am not fanatical about it. I am just always aware of how many calories i have taken in a day and that's that.
Yoga is a huge part of doing well for me. it keeps me calm and centered, and mixes up the cardio/weight training I do normally.

What do you know, people CAN change!

I will post updated pictures when I get to 250 and 200 pounds :)

Linda
