My Goals:
Live a healthier lifestyle--through good nutrition and exercise.

Lose weight.

Get 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night.

Work in my garden.

Go for a walk outside.


My Program:
Doctor says I have pre-diabetes so I'm following Spark plan on the nutrition tracker with my own menu:
- low sodium
- whole foods as much as possible
- Nutritionally balanced, portion controlled meals

Exercise is walking at least 35 minutes every day and strength training 3x a week.


Personal Information:
I love to read, constantly, compulsively.

I enjoy counted embroidery.

My guilty pleasure is Mahjong Connect, although I play Sudoku everyday, too.

The first time I tried this carb plan I felt like it totally glorified the carbs, and it made me want them so much more. I quit after a week because it was "too restricting". Yesterday though was a total stress binge that would have happened regardless, it was definitely an emotional thing. I would have eaten fast food no matter what... but I do think the craving for the pizza was partially because it wasn't a "carb day". I really overall am liking the plan and out of the 27 days I've been on it, I had one binge, if I hadn't been on the plan it would have been probably 4-7 really bad days, that is just my average LOL! So overall the plan is working very well for me and controlling my eating. :) I just need to not let the stress and emotions get the best of me. I also have toned down my "carb nites" a lot, so I don't eat very many. Just enough to give my body what it needs. :)

Thanks for commenting on my blog again. For some reason I consider those Weight Watcher ice cream bars "Off Limits" until my after dinner snack time. I do look forward to it everyday too. I was thinking about Katie at Runs For Cookies who always has a piece of dark chocolate and a glass of wine in the evening. I think we all need a reward. It gives us something to look forward to, and if we can eat it in moderation, maybe we're learning self-discipline? As you know, I have to keep all other non-fruit snacks OUT of my house, because evidently I'm not really all that good at self-discipline YET!!!
