67 years old and at least 61 more pounds to lose ...Half our county calls me "Miss Linda" from my nursing and daycare work for 26 years retiring in 2011...Happily married for 37+ years...Have a beautiful 34 yr old daughter...Time to get healthier ! wanting to be a good example for her as well as healthy for life.
Intro to Sparks in 11/09; Health efforts escalated following two heart stentss on May 23rd. Then 5/15 I was diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis and told to prepare for life in wheel chair. Dec 1 2015 I had 8.5 hour spinal surgery with anesthesia problems and loss of some memory and mobility but am gradually coming back in strength, mobility and mental abilities ...will see how far this improves. Most of my efforts are in the physical mobility and strength realm [ I am walking well with 2 canes now in physical therapy], but must NOT gain weight and would like to gradually loose more with time.
With my return to Sparks I am decreasing # of teams and will also decrease some friends due to memory loss and trying to not overload the mental aspects of my day.

Borrowed this from another post then lost the original for credits...
“If you’re struggling, you deserve to make self-care a priority. Whether that means lying in bed all day, eating comfort food, putting off homework, crying, sleeping, rescheduling plans, finding an escape through a good book, watching your favorite tv show, or doing nothing at all — give yourself permission to put your healing first. Quiet the voice telling you to do more and be more, and today, whatever you do, let it be enough. Feel your feelings, breathe, and be gentle with yourself. Acknowledge that you’re doing the best you can to cope and survive. And trust that during this time of struggle, it’s enough.”

    Risk - Anais Nin

    And then the day came,
    when the risk
    to remain tight
    in a bud
    was more painful
    than the risk
    it took
    to Blossom.

Loved the spark goodie of a magical fruit basket! But REALLY loved your nice note that arrived along with it!
I have yet to read Little Britches! I wonder if my local library carries it. What age group do you think would enjoy it?

Do you have any favorites that will keep the attention of a 5 year old boy? I am babysitting and wish to make every minute count.

    Thank you for everything!
