Taking baby steps...

I've survived the first quarter of the year. I am posting this as a reminder to myself. When the week to week becomes too much, I can look at this and see how far I've come.

Jan 1st 251.6 lbs
Now 225.8 lbs

Used to eat out 4 to 5x a week
Now I Eat out 1-2x a week

Used to be a Size 2-3x
Now I am a Size 1-2x

In January I could do 20-30min on the treadmill at a speed of 2.6 to 2.8 ...

Used to be a Size 2-3x
Now I am a Size 1-2x

In January I could do 20-30min on the treadmill at a speed of 2.6 to 2.8 before stopping.
Now I can do 30-45min on the treadmill at a speed of 2.8 to 3.2 and I strength train 1-2x a week.

I broke a sweat going up just one flight of steps
I can now carry gym bag, lunch bag and purse upstairs without losing stride.

I would never help take more than a couple bags of groceries upstairs after shopping and send the kids for the rest.
Now I load up both arms with 4 or 5 bags and still make the stairs without breaking a sweat

I didn't want my husband to touch me cause I thought I was gross
Now...lets just say there's more snuggles.

I used to drink nothing but hot or iced coffee
Now I drink 2 cups a day and have a lot of water

I used to feel achy, stiff and sore most of the time
Now I feel achy stiff and sore only when I've got a cold or flu

I used to take the dogs out for a short walk
Now I can take them for walks so long they fall asleep as soon as we get home and Oreo walks like a little old man the next day.

When I stop and look at all the "Little" changes that have been made as a result of just changing my nutrition and exercising regularly, I'm blown away by how far I've come in just 3 months. I have a lot more work to do. And reaching my goals will be nothing short of miraculous. But when I look back at what I "couldn't" do before but can do now...It doesn't seem quite so impossible.

I really like playing Everquest II. An online role-playing game which of course only adds to "Secretarial Spread" in the hind quarters!

Go back and look at all those things you listed as accomplishments on your page and realized that they are what is really important, not some number on a scale. The scale will happen, but what we CAN do is much more important!
