Reinventing Myself & Loving My Life
After learning I had dangerously high blood pressure, I embarked on a lifestyle change that resulted in a total weight loss of more than 50 pounds going from a size 14-16 to a 4-6). It came at a critical time in my life when I had just ended a 29 year marriage and moved halfway across the country (with my Black Lab Lily) to get a new start and return to my roots, near old friends and family). After learning I had dangerously high blood pressure, I embarked on a lifestyle change that resulted in a total weight loss of more than 50 pounds going from a size 14-16 to a 4-6). It came at a critical time in my life when I had just ended a 29 year marriage and moved halfway across the country (with my Black Lab Lily) to get a new start and return to my roots, near old friends and family). The weight has remained off ---- and I found a new love. I've also become a very good cook --- learning how to prepare great tasting food that's also good for me. The miles and miles Lily and I walk together gives me time to think while strengthening my body and has also resulted in a healthy, lean and muscular dog. I found out that life can be truly good again ! But keeping the weight off is a never -ending job that needs to be tended to constantly. I find tips from Spark and other places promoting healthy living can be great aids in keeping motivated.

My Goals:
My goal is to maintain the weight loss I achieved back in '07 with a healthy diet and regular exercise that keeps me feeling good about myself and full of the energy I need to meet life's many challenges.
My Program:
I eat a diet that includes lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fish and poultry. I plan what I'll be eating at the beginning of the day, budgeting my calories just as one budgets their money. No foods are forbidden, so I never feel deprived. I track my food daily and also make an extra effort to walk and exercise daily.
