If it is to be, it is up to ME.

Starting where I am today, and being honest about it, I admit to wanting to lose 16 or so pounds - give or take one or two. That is down from the original 20 pounds that I wanted to lose when I first started with Spark People more than 3 years ago - but it is still 16 of the same 20 or so pounds that I wanted to lose last year, and the year before that, and the year before that .....

Because there is a spark of vanity that smolders within me, but doesn't burst into flame very ...
Starting where I am today, and being honest about it, I admit to wanting to lose 16 or so pounds - give or take one or two. That is down from the original 20 pounds that I wanted to lose when I first started with Spark People more than 3 years ago - but it is still 16 of the same 20 or so pounds that I wanted to lose last year, and the year before that, and the year before that .....

Because there is a spark of vanity that smolders within me, but doesn't burst into flame very often, I recognize that I'm vain enough to want to lose weight for 'looks'! Being also logical, I realize that I really do want to be healthier, mentally and physically. I want to believe that these motivators working together can be enough to spur me on to greater success. My latest bloodwork tests just last week indicated that I've convinced myself that things aren't all "that bad" - when really, they will be that bad if I don't get control of this situation!

With Spark People, I have found that my 'on/off switch' is more on than off - and I am going to try diligently - honestly - to keep the light on while I make some deep and significant changes in this life-changing adventure.

My Goals:
** Lose 16 pounds.

**Move - somehow, somewhere, every day.

** Trade in this "pleasingly plump" person living in my body, for the real "me" in here somewhere! I think I can really be good friends with the "real" me!

Keep my head in the game, as I keep my Game Face on!

My Program:
* * Today I am more committed than ever to cut down/out carbs and add vegetables and fruits. I know that carbs are not my friends, and will betray me, and sabotage every other thing I do to eat healthy food and exercise.

The bottom line for me has got to include portion control - not tanking on one type of food, or deprivation. Balance is something I can and should and will aim for at every meal, snack, bite, morsel!

And, finally, I'm trying to be kind to myself, especially when I fumble and stumble.

1). . Walk every day - somewhere, somehow!

2). . Strengthen my attitude and gratitude,

3). . Lengthen my stride!

Thanks for the positive blog comment. It is a busy, but happy time for me! As to being a wedding planner - that was always a dream when I was younger and had more energy. Now it just feels too much like work - ha ha!

Glad you loved the circle of friends blog the other day.... I see you also are a fan of eat to live... I'm gearing up to go full tilt on that initial 6 week plan starting this weekend. I gotta do something to get that scale moving and I'm hoping that will shake things up a bit!

Are you doing the eat to live - got any suggestions?
