Dieting and working out since I was 11 and still not got it right. Why? Because I always did it alone. I've come to accept that just wont work for me. So now I am not focusing on the scale. I want to be healthy. I am seeking help this time, and not from those people who make you feel awful and take your money.

I have to be able to keep up with my son. I want to live long enough to see the people I love enjoy things they never thought they would do. I finally want to be happy and healthy for more than a month or two after I reach my goal weight.

As for specifics, I am a 27 year old stay at home mom and wife. I have a great four year old son and a wonderful husband who has had his rose colored glasses on in reference to me for far too long. I'm one of those short heavy girls walking around with the tall thin husband...for now anyway.

UPDATE 6/24/07:
I gained weight off the bat, but after the first week I got back to my spark start weight (197) and maintained it three full weeks. First time in my life I've ever seen the scale tell me the same thing repeatedly. Know what that means? I learned to maintain weight. New life lesson. Thank you Spark! So now off to start adding regular physical activity. Can't wait.
4/23/08:
So I was going slow. I was learning a lot & moving more than I have ever in my life. Keeping the weight off during the winter was amazing! I hit 175 and it happened again. Men started conversations with me, and strangers told me how beautiful I was and I shut down again. I like being a wallflower. I kept most of it off till DH returned from a long work trip, but as soon as he got home I fell right back into the rut I've lived in between diets. How do I get healthy without all the extra attention? or how do I cope with it? I know I'm sabotaging myself to avoid the attention.

Personal Information:
Southern gal trying to find a way to control herself around the wonderfully breaded & deep fried, greasy and/or sweet things I was comforted with my entire life. Old habits die hard. But I am taking back the control.


Other Information:
Love to craft...almost any craft. Currently have unfinished mosaic and quilt projects I am working on. My garden has been calling so I don't spend to much time inside right now.
