On My Journey

I used to be real active here a few years ago. I lost a decent # of pounds and got stronger, but I fell in rut. I went back to school and between that and trying to take care of my family, I forgot about my health again. I swore by time I graduated college, I would be in a better place - but it just didn't happen. I've been out of school for 2 years and I've lost a few more pounds, but it comes in spurts. Also, I can't say I felt as good as when I was the most active on here. So, here we go ...
So, here we go again. Re-makeover time!

I've been married a bit over 12 years. Together we have an awesome 11 year old boy with autism. I let autism provide me with excuses for a few years, but as he became more high functioning with therapies, I wanted to put more time into myself. Now he's in school all day and sometimes seems like a typical child. So maybe there's a chance I can live to see grandchildren. Maybe he won't have kids, and that's ok, but if he does - I'd like to be here to enjoy them!

I recently switched to a part time job due to just not feeling well and overwhelmed with stress. I'd like to get back in a place where I can handle full time again.

I'd love to say one day that I'm at goal weight. But, most of all I really want to get stronger, faster, feel better with more energy. I want to continue hiking as much as we do, but I want to enjoy it even more by handling it. We have a trip to the Shenandoah mountains in June, so it's time I get moving again.

I just wanted to take advantage of still having power to send you some warm Halloween greetings. . .

Dressed up little creatures
On a dark October night
Run from door to door
Giving everyone a fright.

They come and ring your doorbell
And before they will retreat,
They beg you for some candy
By yelling "trick or treat".

When their bags are full,
They run home to eat their fill.
They taste a bit of everything
And by morning they are ill!

So to keep the youngsters healthy,
I've figured out a deal.
This year instead of candy,
I'll give them all oatmeal!

Wishing you a Happy Halloween!
