On My Journey
The last 8 weeks have been real up and down. I let life's hectic ways get in the way of my goals. I made progress, then lost progress, gained weight, lost weight, gained, and then injured myself. I'm tired of weighing in weekly and being disappointed in myself. I'm tired of feeling tired. I'm tired of skipping workouts and then feeling guilty, yet still not getting off my bum and working out. I'm still taking prerequisites and doing my best to get into nursing school. My goal is ...
The last 8 weeks have been real up and down. I let life's hectic ways get in the way of my goals. I made progress, then lost progress, gained weight, lost weight, gained, and then injured myself. I'm tired of weighing in weekly and being disappointed in myself. I'm tired of feeling tired. I'm tired of skipping workouts and then feeling guilty, yet still not getting off my bum and working out. I'm still taking prerequisites and doing my best to get into nursing school. My goal is to be in good shape and healthy by time I am accepted into the program. By time I graduate I want to be at my ideal weight and not be worried about handling long shifts on my feet and being able to walk fast for hours. I also have a little boy that is counting on me being here for a long time. He's 7 and because he's special needs it's super important that I live as long as possible to take care of him. At this time I can barely handle playing chase with him. I'd love to be able to enjoy playing with him! I have a husband who I've been married to for almost 8 years now and too many times I'm grouchy or unavailable and that's not fair to him. He is very supportive and loving no matter how I live, but he married a fit, happy woman and I'd like to return. I have Fibromyalgia, issues with depression and anxiety, and Seasonal Affective Disorder. I'm on many medications and frankly the limitations this all causes me is getting old! I'd like to be able to discontinue some medications and I know getting fit and healthy will help. The Winter 5% Challenge is about to start so it's time to create a realistic, rewarding plan... For 8 weeks I plan on working hard and accomplishing numbers to be proud of! To make this happen I plan to: Committing to jog 3-4 days every week Strength train at gym or at home 3 days every week Play dance games on Wii or Kinnect 2 days every week Track all meals at least 5 days every week Stay within calorie limits Strive to hit appropriate numbers for iron, fat, carbs, protein Eat at least 6 servings of fruit/veggies every day Report my progress on team page at least 5 days every week Read and comment on people's blogs and pages Post a personal blog at least 3 days every week Weigh in once every week Read at least 3 health articles every week QUOTES TO LIVE BY: “You get credit for what you finish, not what you start.” “You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true. My motivation for changing my ways... I want/need to: •Wear a bikini on the beach •Stop avoiding mirrors •Keep my thighs from rubbing •Have someone tell me I'm beautiful •Look better naked! •Live longer •Have more energy •Climb stairs without being winded •Not feel/get sick all the time •Run a 5k •Feel and be stronger •Feel less pain from Fibromyalgia •Play and be active with my son •Stick around to see my grandkids grow up •Do more active things with my spouse •Kick off a new career •Set a good example for my son *Keep lowering my cholesterol *Prevent osteoporosis as long as possible *
