Thank you for the support in my blog! It took me a while, but I found that two things really helped squash the panic attacks I used to get at the dentist. The first one was letting the dentist know flat out about the possibility of a panic attack. I have a really great, understanding dentist that is ok with me stopping for a break if it gets hard to breathe, I start freaking out, or I feel any pain. It also helped him make the decision to give me gas whenever I need to be in the chair for a long time.
The second thing that really helped was bringing music with me! My dentist suggested it for my first root canal, and it's nice! I started with borrowing his portable CD player, but I've upgraded to an ipod. lol. I have a playlist, and I start when the drilling starts and it helps take my mind off things!
I totally hear you on the price of it all, but if you find a good, understanding dentist, they can help you through the anxiety of getting work done! :D
for adding me as one of your s. I look forward to getting to know you and to the day you reach your weight loss goal. On that day, here in Central FL, I want to hear you yell, "I DID IT!" That sure will be a day to remember, won't it? -- Lou
