Udate 6/2013- Weight is up a bit, exercise down. Getting back on track, though. Not back to baseline and don't want to go there. Still happy. Grateful for Spark to get me back on track.

Update 6/ 2012- I can't believe how my life has changed over the last 5 years! I didn't realize how much misery was due to my weight and lifestyle. I don't enjoy exercise yet...but I LOVE the way I feel. My weight is stable, I'm in good condition and still smoke free. I am very grateful for ...

Update6/2011- 4 wonderful, wild, incredible life changing years. I'm still smoke free and in the best shape of my life! Just finished a 70.3 triathlon. Scale still about the same. I'm learning to live with my numbers... Like I said- I'm healthier than I have EVER been. It all started here.

Update 6/2010 - really 3 years?! Maintained weight loss and still smoke free. In the best shape of my life and much more 'fit' even if the scale hasn't dipped large numbers over the past year.
Finished 7 triathlons over the past year! Beyond my wildest dreams...

Update 6/2009- Wow- 2 years!!! 50+ lbs. lighter and still smoke free. I am so grateful for all the support!

Update 7/2008- A year+ later, 40 lbs lighter on the outside and still working on the inside..... Miracle #2 - 15 months without a cigarette.

From 6/2007- I hope this time is different. It feels that way- but since I have been down this road so many times, I don't trust that I'm really on my way to a healthy lifestyle. Keep me in your prayers...

My Goals:
Live a healthy lifestyle.

My Program:
I follow Jennie Craig (off and on) and the principles of portion control, moderation, and exercise. I work out 5 times a week, strength train 2 times a week with a trainer (as funds allow.)
Quit smoking using Chantix, friends and a whole lot of prayer.

Other Information:
I am a single mom of two great teenagers who keep me on my toes.
I like gardening, needlework, jewelry making. Still waiting to like exercise.... after 42 years I'm not holding my breath.

second Sparkversary! What an accomplishment!
Do you realize how few people stayed with this who joined when you did? You know that you are REALLY special to love yourself so much to have stayed being a Sparker while they gave up. You have done FANTASTIC!

Hi! Kate, (God, I hope I have your name right....I am so tired tonight)...Well, I'm sending West Coast earthquake vibes your way! We had 3 mini-quakes, then I walked at Portuguese Bend, an area that is falling into the ocean. I wondered what would happen if the big one hit! I've been working too many hours but have the next 2 days off. I did a workout three days ago and am still feeling it! I added the stability ball to my repertoire, and I really like it. I am working on Dyer's "Excuses Be-Gone" as well as Louise Hay's book. It all makes a nice little circle of therapy. Wonderful things are happening. I got a call from a "lost" friend of many years ago, I have been getting nice little surprises from people, etc. I have been starting my day with the prayer of gratitude for awhile, but this morning I woke up thinking all the grateful thoughts, so I figure something is sinking in. I do have to admit, though, I'm not quite there yet when I say "I love my body"...still working on it. Keep in touch, friend, as I have thought of you, too. --Gail

Thanks for the spark goodie of a bike. That would be something I really need for a triathalon. The only bike I have is a Walmart special!. Between that and the $100.00 fee, I'm afraid I won't be able to do this one. Shame too cause I live in Glasgow and I've always wanted to do something like that. Best of Luck to you.
