June's Journey to better health

I quit smoking in 2005, and I think my metabolism went from 60 to 0 overnight. Even though I said I wasn't going to gain weight, I did ... 65 pounds worth. That was almost 7 years ago. Today I am 70 and know that in order to feel better, I need to reduce the amount of weight I carry around. I thought I could do this without a diet buddy or others with my same mindset, but found that it is easier to walk on a road others are traveling with me.

My Goals:
To get more healthy than I am today, which will give me more energy.

My Program:
I religiously use the Food Tracker and try to stay within the bounds for Fats/Protein/Carbs

Personal Information:
I began counting calories seriously and joined a group here October 29, 2013. On that day I weighed 253.6 ......
I wanted to make a note of this, so I can look at it in the future and know how far I've come.
Rather than trying to lose all my weight at one time, I am taking it 10 percent at a time. Hopefully, that goal will not seem so large to lose. And ... I'll go from there.

Other Information:
I love to read ... usually mysteries, espionage, FBI stores and the like. Although, I will say that the Outlander Series written by Diana Gabaldon are the best books I have ever read.
