I started seriously changing my lifestyle in Jan. 2010. Did real well with staying within calorie range and lost 27 pounds in just 5 months. Then summer happened, then budget cuts, more stress at work...and I stalled out on my momentum and motivation.
It's now January 2012 and I am working on losing 30 pounds gained back with good 'ol stress eating.
I'm learning oodles about emotional eating and negative self talk thanks to the Spark program and am focused on transforming these ...

I've been 30-50 pounds over weight for the past 15 years, so I've got some "unlearning" to do.
I want to really achieve my goal this year.

My Goals:
I'd like to lose 30 pounds.
Since I have been bouncing back and forth with commitment and consistency, I'm focusing on the following strategies:

*Log all food good or bad.

*Do a minimum of 30 minutes cardio and 15 minutes of weight training 4 days per week.

*Plug in at least 2 SparkRecipes per week.

*Seriously restrict the sweets allowed in the house.

* Drink 8 glasses of wa-wa a day.

* Stop my negative self talk.

* Reach out to more Sparkers for reciprocal support and encouragement.

My Program:
I am committed to being honest with myself about how much I am actually eating by using the Nutrition Tracker. I am walking one mile 4 days per week.

Personal Information:
I have been happily married for 23 years and have 2 wonderful children, I am a Library Media Specialist for a local Elementary school and love everything about my job. ( Well almost everything.) I am in womens ministry leadership at my local Calvary Chapel and am working sincerely on surrendering my healthy lifestyle goals to the One who can truly bring me to victory!

Other Information:
I love leading worship, floral design,gardening, cooking, reading (of course), and going to movies. I love the mountains, hiking and going for walks anywhere I can be surrounded by the beauty of God's handiwork.

Hey there Spark-a-licous,

How’s your week going? Last week was an emotional rollercoaster therefore I kicked into the “No Food Left Behind” initiative. I kept telling myself this isn’t good, this isn’t good, and then I realized talking with my mouth full was just plain rude! AMAZINGLY when I stepped on the scale Monday morning I was down .9 of a lb. Whew!!

This week I am more in control and I have been perusing the SP recipes like a bandit. Last night I made the Cheesy Chicken & Broccoli casserole. I added 7 grain rice mix on the side and I must say delish. I found a couple more today that I’m going to have to put into the rotation. I can’t remember a time where I’ve eaten more tasty stuff … and I get to while I’m shedding pounds.

Anyway, I stopped by to see if you needed some encouragement (or apparently a laugh, cuz I’m on a roll) or just a friendly little note.

I hope you’re day is sailing along without your anchor dragging.

Down 7 lbs!!! WAY TO GO!!! Keep up the good work and before you know it you will be to goal. My weekend didn't help my goal at all, but hey, today's a new day and a new week. So, back to salads for lunch and saying 'NO' to the things that aren't helping me to go in the right direction.
