I'm determined to be a knockout for my 30th birthday!

My family has a pretty scary medical history that includes congestive heart failure, heart attacks, diabetes, asthma, cancer, and dementia...All of which can be prevented or minimized by living a healthy life and being a healthy weight.

Also, I seem to be chronically single, but looking for my Mr. Right. If I felt better about my body I would have greater confidence which would make dating -- and socializing in general -- exponentially easier. Let's face it, beyond almost anything else, confidence is paramount in any relationship (romantic, platonic, or working).

I feel like I've been waiting all through my twenties for my life to begin, but it begins...NOW!

My Goals:
~Lose 1-2 pounds per week
~Eat to feed my body, not my emotions
~Get moving by exercising every day
~Be healthy and HOT when I turn 30!

My Program:
~Tracking food daily
~Drink at least 8-10 cups of water each day
~Asking myself if I'm eating because I'm hungry or because I'm bored or upset
~Try to stay within nutrition goals
~Pay attention to portion sizes
~Do at least 20 minutes on the treadmill every day, increasing as it gets easier
~Get at least 5000 steps on my pedometer when not on the treadmill

Other Information:
I love the Harry Potter books, anything written by Christopher Moore, and the Alix of Wanthwaite Trilogy.

Musically, I like pretty much anything I can sing along with but failsafe choices include Josh Groban, Better Than Ezra, Jason Mraz, and Ingrid Michaelson.

I watch probably too much television -- Glee, 30 Rock, Community, How I Met Your Mother, Raising Hope, and American Dad are must-see TV...But even more than that I love watching good movies. I have nearly 300 titles in my DVD library -- and that's after I pared it down.
