Hi-I've only been a member for a couple of days.I knew that there must be any number of LDS members on SP.
I'm happy that I've found your Page and the LDS Forum site.
I'm an "Older Convert"as of Feb.15th,2004-meaning an Elder starting his
7th Decade of Life here on Earth.
I love our Church, and have received many, many Blessings since becoming a
member-one of which is to be married and Sealed in the Washington D.C.Temple to a former High School Classmate, whom I hadn't been in contact
with for 50 years. That's another amazing and wonderful Story-which I won't go into detail with now-perhaps later.
My Wife was converted back in 1973,here in Germany, where she has lived
since 1965.She came here to have a wonderful career as an Opera Singer.
I was living in Madison,Wi.,when we became re-acqainted.I was born there, but lived most of my life in So.California, where my Wife and I went to
High School together.
We both were married previously, and each had two Sons in our First Marriage.
My oldest Son passed on to the other side -Feb.9,2001.What a Blessing it
was to do the Ordinances for him in the Chicago Temple in 2004.
I am the only one in my immediate family who is a member of our Church-but I am sharing the True Gospel, and Example with the others, and pray that they will find the Truth for themselves.
My Wife and I now live in Grafenhausen(near Darstadt),Germany, where she has lived for about 35 years. We are both retired from jobs, but are very active in our Branch here-she the Musical Director-and Music Teacher for the Primary, and myself as President of our Elders Quorum.
My Wife and I both have Health issues-such as being overweight;she also
has Type 2 Diabetes, and High Blood Pressure.
I am also considerably overweight, have High Blood Pressure,Chronic Kidney Stone conditions.I recently underwent a Hernia Operation and am due for a Hip Replacement later this Year.
Thus-our reason for joining SP,and taking advantage of it's many features.
We know that our Heavenly Father will Bless us-and guide us in our goals
to live heathier lives.
We wish all of you a wonderful Easter Season-and look foward to getting to know many of you-and being supportive of your journeys to better health.

There is someone beautiful on the inside the heart waiting to come out. Each day is a brand new day. Just like a train coming out of a tunnel into the light of day. Focus on each new beginning. I too sometimes go through times of despondency but I have to encourage myself.

Others sometime do not understand, you have to begin this day with love in your heart. You can make a little step in the right direction. You can make it. Because Jesus loves you.

Hi! I read your post and I just wanted to tell you its not always an easy journey. Don't be so hard on yourself though. Take things one day at a time and if you have a bad day...understand what you did wrong and move on. Your learning new habits and there will be days when you slip up. But its normal, extremly normal.

Be patient with yourself and know that you are making progress. Drink some water, take a walk, relax and feel good about yourself.

Feel free to sparkmail me.
