Hi all, I've been on Spark since 4/13/06 . Lost about a pound a week for the first few weeks, then plateaued (with the occassional uptick during vacations and back to normal when I got back) for a couple months. Changed up my exercise routine recently and it looks like the plateau is busted! This site rocks; I am so impressed with all the features, content, and coaches.

I'd been doing a daily streak of DDR for my cardio. It's a ton of fun, and great for people who have a hard time getting into other exercises. Check out our DDR group (link below).

Recently I started doing the 5K Walk/Jog training, because I'd like to get into jogging/running since it's such a versatile exercise - in particular, I could use it on vacations (unlike DDR) to avoid those upticks!

I stopped exercising regularly for a couple months there and didn't gain anything back, but I think I was losing muscle and gaining fat, and of course it caught up with me. So I'm now back on track - I think regular strength training is a real key to keeping it off.

I've been vegetarian since I was 16. Favorite quote: "If it has eyes or runs away, don't eat it." ;) If you're vegetarian or been thinking about eating more veg*n meals, come join us on Calling All Vegetarians. There's a special thread for the veg-curious. For committed veg*ns, check out the 100% Meat Free Zone team (link below).

Lose weight and be in better shape in general.

My Program:
I've been keeping to the low end of the recommended calorie range and trying to alternate daily b/w cardio & strength training. I mostly do DDR (was on a daily streak for awhile) but also started the 5K walk/jog training that was featured on Spark, so was doing treadmill for awhile too.

Welcome to our RAW FOODIES team! Nice to see our little group growing. Lots of good info there....hope you can add to it. I really encourage folks to post an intro on our forum, so we can all get to know you. If you have hints, ideas, or recipes...please share. Just jump right in! (I used to live only about 1 1/2 hours from Lake Tahoe, so your pics look very familiar to me....)
