Time To Start Living My Life To The Fullest!

I'm a 35 year old mother/wife/steelworker. I love to read, swim, & take photographs. I love spending my time off from work with my husband & two daughters.

I've been on Spark before. Right after my 3 year old daughter was born I joined weight watchers & then found this site. I used both to lose an additional 20 lbs to the weight I lost from having her. Then something happened & tada! I gained it all back. Boo!!!

So here I am again, a fresh start. I've learned ...

So here I am again, a fresh start. I've learned a lot since I was here last. I've read about juicing & I've bought a juicer & gave it a try. Surprise, surprise.......I love it! Who knew juicing veggies with a dab of fruit would taste so amazing! I can get veggies in that I never would have touched otherwise. It really is amazing stuff. I just need to do it more & be consistent with it. Even my 3 year old loves it. When she sees me with a glass of it she wants to drink it. I even froze some of it & she ate them up!

I also have a different job then I did when I was here last. Same company, but I am now in an office Mon. - Friday day turns, instead of swing shift out in the mill. Woohoo! It only took 16 years at this place, but boy oh boy am I happy to never have to work a midnight, afternoon, or holiday ever again!

So here's to a fresh start! And to Spark!

Health Goals
To replace my breakfast with a healthy smoothie or juice.
To drink plenty of water everyday.
To cut way back on carbs during meals & load up on veggies.


My Program:
Work out 5 days a week. Walking, riding my bike, or using my elliptical. Using weights & resistance bands. And lots of squats & lunges! Just plenty of variety so I don't get bored.

emoticon to the Weight Loss Café. This is going to be a different sort of team. It is going to be a stress free team that is dealing more with an educational aspect on how we can be successful on our journey here on Spark People. You can participate in the threads or not. No judgment will be made. You may simply just want the information the team will share. One of the best things I love about Spark people is the sharing of our knowledge. Read the articles, glean what you can from it and use it in developing your new healthy lifestyle.

Diets do not work and this is what this team will focus on. It is the lifestyle changes that will allow you to be successful. Any diet will work but only as long as you stay on it. You need to choose an eating plan you can live with –FOREVER. There is no quick band aid fixes. No lotions, potions, or pills here. It is just plain old healthy food.

Hope you will share some of your tips or things that worked for you with the team. There is an entire Resource Forum that is uploaded with various documentaries you can watch for free. Enjoy them, learn from them, they are better than summer reruns on tv. Please add any information or insight you can to help us all be successful.
