I am 61 years old and have been overweight pretty much my entire life and a member of various weight loss groups most of that time. I am hypothyroid and have a difficult time losing weight. But after a cancer diagnosis eight years ago (clean bill of health now) I know the importance of getting to a lower weight to help prevent the chance of a re-occurance.

1/7/13 I'm back! Have taken a too long break from SP but I am ready to get back on the losing side of this weight issue. I actually did pretty well maintaining for such a long time. I seem to have that down, now if I could just lose to get to my goal and then maintain. It is time to do it!

8/7/07 I have been on SP for one year today and have not made much progress. I have had a hard time controlling my thyroid the past year and know that if I hadn't been here doing what I have been doing my weight would have gone up much higher. I have a new found motivation to kick myself into gear again and get this weight off once and for all. I CAN DO IT!!

4/21/08 I am starting again, as of today. I have gotten lax in what I have been doing. I have had a lot of stress in my life the past 6 months but I have to quit using that as an excuse.

9/17/08 Recently I have had my thyroid meds raised again. I just don't seem to make any progress with my weight loss. Work for weeks to lose a pound or two and then go out for one meal, making healthy choices, or give in to one dessert and wham, it is all back plus some. Then I work weeks again to get it back off. I want this so much but it just isn't happening.

2/17/09 I have still been struggling and am up and down the same pounds over and over. It is very frustrating but I am again going to give it my all and see if I can't break through to a new set of numbers and then continue on.

272 - 6/6/08 (9/09 still holding at this weight with no progress.

My Goals:
My short term goal is to get back down into the 270s.


My Program:
I am back to doing this on my own at home. Watching calories and portions and using the resources that SP has available to us should get me losing again. I need to get the exercising going again and keep it going.

I live in Wisconsin. I have done licensed family child care since 1985.


Other Information:
I am setting short mini goals until I reach my ultimate goal. I'll know what that is when I get there.
