I wasn't speedy, but I bettered my time from my HM in San Francisco. My goal is to remain healthy, lose a few pounds, and maintain a happy, spontaneous, nutritious, and active lifestyle.
I live in Southern California in an old but growing community located in a valley below the San Bernardino mountains on the edge of the lower desert, west of Palm Springs. My husband and I have lived and raised our boys in our current home (previously his grandparents retirement home) for 39 years.

My Goals:
Now that I understand the Spark program more completely I can set better goals:
*I will exercise at least 5 days a week.
*I will drink 8 glasses of water each day.
*I will walk/jog 4-5 times per week.
I will practice yoga at the studio 3-5 times per week.
*I will track my walk/jog miles and exercise minutes daily.
*I will track my food and nutrients periodically to stay on track.
*I will read inspirational meditations and pray each morning.....no excuses....positive outlook.
*I will stay active, productive, and engaged in life every day.
*I will show GRATITUDE in my thoughts and actions.

My Program:
I am diving full speed into the Spark program and determined not to get discouraged or deterred from my goals.

Personal Information:
I have had many personal hurdles to overcome in my life. I have successfully overcome them with the help of God, a supportive husband, three wonderful sons, several very important biological family members, and amazing friends. I continue to live a blessed life one moment at a time. I expect to have many more hurdles in the future and feel prepared to meet the challenges.

Other Information:
I had two heart attacks in 1989 & 1991. I am in remission from an autoimmune disease called Sweet's Syndrome. I had a complete hip replacement in 2006. I had cataracts in both eyes, lenses replaced in 2008.
My jogging/walking began in 2010. Anything is possible at any age!!!

A crucial aspect of my spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical health is that I am a successfully recovering alcoholic of 13 years. I hope to share my experience, strength, and hope for a better life with others.

Abraham Lincoln once said." We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses. Do we see the glass half full or half empty.

There are ten benefits of positive thinking.

1. A positive mind attracts postive events ....imagine how many great things you will experience in your life.

2. Postiive thinking promotes great and harmonious relationships because you notice the positive qualities in a person instead of dwelling on their defaults.

3. You make a better first impression because people are attracted to
a kind and friendly person.

4. Postiive thinkers experience birant health and are less prone to
depression and are less prone to illness.

5. Positive thinking is the key to success because it allows success to
become doable and easier.

6. Positive people overcome stress more easily.

7. Positive thinkers see problems as opportunities for growth.

8. Positive thinkers notice the abundance of good things in their lives because they develop an attitude of gratitude.

9. Positive thinking motivates us to achieve our goals.

10. Beauty shines from within a positive thinker because friendly and
happy people are extremely attractive and the inner beauty is able to be seen by others.

Make positive thinking you daily habit!

This day belongs to me. I can do wonderful things with it, creative things, including the creation of order in my surroundings and in my mind. Nobody else owns my particular segment of tim, so it really depends only on me how I will fill every moment to my satisfaction.

Enjoy your day dear emoticon .

Thank you Leslie! Your comment on my weigh in really made me think. You are right, the fluctuation I saw this week is preparing me for what it will be like to maintain my goal weight. I know there will be times I eat out and eat things that are not my usual healthy choices. That is always going to be a part of my life. Even though I feel like I have adjusted well to my new lifestyle I still have a lot to learn. My self control amazes me but this week I let loose and enjoyed the times I went out for dinner. It was worth it to create those memories with friends and family.

I'm not sure I would call myself teeny tiny but I feel so much lighter, mentally and physically. It is amazing how much of a difference losing 20 lbs. can make!
