Working to be Better

Hi I'm Leslie and I am 53 years old. I have chronic daily migraines and degenerative disc disease which have made it very hard for me to be consistent with my diet and exercise routines. I have decide that I am just going to have to be more prepared and more proactive because I am determined to get this weight off for good.

I am also joining a "lose 60 to 100 pounds in a year challenge" with Team~Indygirl. I hope to receive a lot of support from the team and to give a lot also. I know that together we CAN do this! My reward for doing this is going to be a trip to Niagra Falls!

My Goals:
I want to get healthy so that I can keep up with my 6 year old grandson and be around to watch him grow up.
As of Jan. 2, 2013 I want to lose 108 pounds to reach my goal of 135.

My Program:
I have gone gluten free to try to help my migraines and I try to incorporate MUFAs into each of my meals.
For exercise I walk to "Walk Away The Pounds" DVDs and walk my dog when the weather is nice.

Personal Information:
I started this journey 1/2/13 at 243 lbs. I did really well for a while and lost 60 lb.s before changes in my health and meds led me to put back 40 lbs. I've decided that while I can't change somethings, I can change my attitude, so I started the Whole 30 diet yesterday and I am in PT so at least things are going in the right direction.
