Welcome to SP! Say your comment on the 40 something's website! You can do this! I, too, live by myself and don't have a ton of friends. I know that some days are better than others and it sounds like you have a whopping something to overcome. But, you can lose the weight. Just take it one day at a time, but truly embrace this site - the trackers and the groups. They are awesome. Good luck! 1985 days ago
Hi Lesa, Welcome to SP, I am a 72 year old grandma and have been with SP just over a year. I too am at home all the time as I'm retired, I am not alone as I have my DH with me, but I'm on line every day at some point, so If you want someone to contact on a daily basis I'm here. I have made you my friend so that you can access my sparkpage and I wish you luck on your journey. Luv Thelma 1985 days ago
Welcome aboard, were here for you, to work on this together! It feels so good when the weight start coming off and also the mind changes, too. I know mine did.
I started dating again at 62 and continue doing so. I still have a lot of weight to lose (like 77 more pounds, at least)(lost almost 120, already) I am healthier! I had half my pancreas removed, and my spleen, I am guessing they removed your spleen, also. Told me it was necessary! I have had many surgeries through the years, raised three wonderful children alone and have been blessed with three great grandchildren!
I am happy and happiness comes with wanting to be happy! Friendship comes with being a friend. Don't ever hesitate, Smile and say hello, may strike up a conversation or at least get a smile and nod back!
Volunteer, at anything you can do at this point with your health. You meet people.
