My Goals:
Train to do the half marathon again in Feb. 2012. The goal is to cut an hour off our time by running/walking.
Revisit the Mud Run with a new team in 2012. That'll take a year to get ready for.

Motivate my son and husband to get fit and lose weight

Continue the transition for unhealthy desk job to active, helpful physical health practitioner....first as a massage therapist, then as a physical therapist assistant
Make use of the massage license and earn some money while I finish the pta program.
Giving a massage, after all, burns 300 calories and you get paid at the same time.

My Program:
These days people ask me what I'm doing and how the half marathon went, they are no longer trying to discourage or warn me, they're wanting to know what I'm doing

I've been successful through weight watchers and lost 35 pounds on the program over a 30 week period in 2008 year and am slowly working my way to my final goal

I have become a faithful exerciser and use Fit TV and exercise TV on demand. I joined a gym
in January 2009 and worked out 5-6 days a week in preparation for the mud run/
M husband and son worked out more and started setting goals too
Then I got wrapped up in college again and stalled. So did they. This time, I've got to get motivated and stay motivated.

Personal Information:
I live near a beach, and until recently worked at a newspaper and am a dedicated member of Paperbackswap.com!

If you haven't heard of it, email me and I'll give you a referral. I'll get free books, you can mail off the books you own but don't want, then you can get free books too.....I've acquired a lot of books on fitness and health from this site by trading away the young adult novels my children have outgrown.

Other Information:
Don't quit.

Put yourself first and make yourself healthy. The rest of the universe will respect you for it.....

after six months of working out almost everyday, I had lost three pounds. The first week I joined weight watchers I lost five. Find something that works for you and stick to it.
LOG your foods, drink your water. It'll work

Just wanted to let you know that people who have gluten issues do have problems absorbing nutrients for the most part. I was just informed today that I have celiac disease and will have to go gluten free. I have been on mega doses of iron and vitamin D as well as other nutrients and vitamins and still an deficient. This has been going on for years but the doctor told me today that maybe with changing my diet completely, I can turn some of this around. Nothing is 100% but the goal is for me to get better. I already have a host of other problems, so this just adds to the list.
Hope this helps you a little.
Blessings and hugs,
Helen

Thank you so much for the comment on my blog. It is appreciated. Maybe you could give me some pointers on how to get over the mountain that is exercise. I know the benefits. I know the importance. I know the need. I just don't know the motivation.
Anyway, thanks again!
