Three hour hike in South Carolina's Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area. Bliss! Being fit = hiking.

I need to train to run the half in Myrtle Beach.

Several goals in mind this summer. Since traffic is so ridiculous this time of year at the beach with millions of visitors swarming in July, I get a little cabin fever on the weekends during the Saturday morning check out and Saturday afternoon check in times. It's the perfect time to begin work on a fitness certification. Today, I start simple with the purchase of a book. This is a thousand dollar investment in my career, my health and the future of patients and clients I don't yet know. ...
Another adventure awaits but it'll be a paycheck to paycheck investment scheme in textbooks, membership in the certifying organization and finally a big ticket payment for an exam.
If I can find a way to organize my time to train for a half marathon at the same time, I'll put that on the list for March 2016, too.

My Goals:
Train to do the run the half marathon again in March 2016.
Motivate my sons and husband to get fit and attain healthy weights.
Become a certified shoe fitter, earn a certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association for Special Populations.
Do another mud run.

My Program:
After losing 35 pounds with weight watches, switching careers from a desk job to a constantly in motion physical therapy assistant, I use Sparkpeople to maintain a healthier weight.

Personal Information:
I live near a beach but vacation in the mountains. I'm ready to go hiking now. Is it fall yet?

Other Information:
Don't quit.

Put yourself first and make yourself healthy. The rest of the universe will respect you for it.....

after six months of working out almost everyday, I had lost three pounds. (That's last year's statement; this past year i gained seven while working out at more intense levels less frequently) That's gone after 30 days back a Spark people. Find something that works for you and stick to it.
LOG your foods, drink your water. It'll work

Just wanted to let you know that people who have gluten issues do have problems absorbing nutrients for the most part. I was just informed today that I have celiac disease and will have to go gluten free. I have been on mega doses of iron and vitamin D as well as other nutrients and vitamins and still an deficient. This has been going on for years but the doctor told me today that maybe with changing my diet completely, I can turn some of this around. Nothing is 100% but the goal is for me to get better. I already have a host of other problems, so this just adds to the list.
Hope this helps you a little.
Blessings and hugs,
Helen

Thank you so much for the comment on my blog. It is appreciated. Maybe you could give me some pointers on how to get over the mountain that is exercise. I know the benefits. I know the importance. I know the need. I just don't know the motivation.
Anyway, thanks again!
