Never give up...no matter what!

I've lived in old Folsom, CA for almost 22 years and raised my daughters here. (I'm putting this first because I would love to meet spark people who live nearby)...

2009 was not one of my best years...unemployed, looking for work and dealing with that stress and tendonitis and a bit of bursitis in my right heel which I tried to deal with without going to a doctor led me to emotional eating and to stop my walking routine...I usually walk 2 miles almost every day. So...job or not, ...

So...job or not, I need to get back to feeling like "myself"...which is to drop the 20 pounds I've gained and I would like to lose 5 more to get into my healthy BMI range...a friend mentioned sparkpeople and I just love it...so many positive people here!!!

My Goals:
*to start lifting weights 3X/wk
*walk at least 2 mi/5X/wk using "Walk away the Pounds"
*eliminate dairy/flour/sugar/artificial sweeteners
*eat organic as much as possible
*get back to 64oz H20/dly
*make meditation/prayer a daily habit
*weigh 170 on my scale (165) by the first day of spring.

My Program:
Joined this site, made the decision and am going to start tracking calories, water intake and exercise tomorrow. I need to start the walking thing slowly (I know the added weight didn't help my foot). I've purchased free weights and want to start using them! I try to avoid processed food, have eaten "healthy" most of my life and have been active (not athletic :). I think my good health is a result of this and it is something I am grateful for every day and don't want to take for granted...you have to do MORE as you age (sigh...)
