I've lived in old Folsom, CA for almost 22 years and raised my daughters here. (I'm putting this first because I would love to meet spark people who live nearby)...

2009 was not one of my best years...unemployed, looking for work and dealing with that stress and tendonitis and a bit of bursitis in my right heel which I tried to deal with without going to a doctor led me to emotional eating and to stop my walking routine...I usually walk 2 miles almost every day. So...job or not, I need to get back to feeling like "myself"...which is to drop the 20 pounds I've gained and I would like to lose 5 more to get into my healthy BMI range...a friend mentioned sparkpeople and I just love it...so many positive people here!!!

Fitness Minutes: 2,239

My Goals:
*to start lifting weights 3X/wk
*walk at least 2 mi/5X/wk using "Walk away the Pounds"
*eliminate dairy/flour/sugar/artificial sweeteners
*eat organic as much as possible
*get back to 64oz H20/dly
*make meditation/prayer a daily habit
*weigh 170 on my scale (165) by the first day of spring.


My Program:
Joined this site, made the decision and am going to start tracking calories, water intake and exercise tomorrow. I need to start the walking thing slowly (I know the added weight didn't help my foot). I've purchased free weights and want to start using them! I try to avoid processed food, have eaten "healthy" most of my life and have been active (not athletic :). I think my good health is a result of this and it is something I am grateful for every day and don't want to take for granted...you have to do MORE as you age (sigh...)

    Hey Lady, You will be at your goal weight very soon. Great Job. How is the garden coming along? I worked all day in mine and my body is so feeling it. You are right it is a great workout. Keep moving!!!!

    Bonnie, You are kicking butt. I just reset my program here and put a new weight ticker up. I started at 180 last year I am currently 165 so that is were I set my ticker. I hope I can get down to at least 145. You are so right it does feel so good to work up a sweat It is amazing how much better we take care of ourselves when we do not smoke. Good for us. I ate a lot of calories today. I have to stay away from the sunflower seeds always learn so much when I track my food. You are right whole grain, lean protein, fruits and veggies and we will stay on track and make the exercise really pay off. Tomorrow I will do better when shopping today!!! emoticon
