I have been overweight since I was about 3 years old, to differing degrees. As of the start of 2010, I was at my highest weight ever and made a goal for myself to lose 100 pounds before I turn 30 (Spring of 2012) and keep it off.

I started at the local YMCA but found it really hard to motivate myself. I had just moved to a new house and the YMCA was about 15 minutes out of my way (which for me is about 15 minutes too many). I noticed a different work-out facility just a couple of blocks from my house. I never heard of this one before -- Ellipse. Solely due to location, I checked into it. I talked to some coworkers and one recognized the name and knew of someone that joined with great results. I talked to the Ellipse staff and they seemed really motivating. They invited me to join in the first class for free to see what I thought. Very smart of them because I was instantly hooked! What I like is that it is like having a personal trainer. I weigh-in with my "coach" every week and she holds me accountable. When I am doing a move wrong, the instructor corrects it. When I can't do a move, the instructor gives me a modification to do instead. I signed up for one year contract so now I have to keep it up all year -- yikes, wish me luck!

I saw your blog where you mentioned bad choices and complacency. I am definitely struggling with the same things this month. Remember, just one small change at a time! Let's keep on track and push through!
