Hi :)... thanks for friending me. I used to be so active on this site, but since going back to school I really fell off the sparks wagon. I feel like I've lost touch with all the people I'd met here who helped keep me accountable, and it is really nice to meet someone else in a similar situation :).
I had a similar, but much smaller scale) situation with my knee a few years ago. I was running and accomplishing my goals and feeling great, then developed a knee issue called illiotibial band syndrome (ITBS). Such a frustrating thing that goes dormant and comes back.... it felt like i was being cheated out of everything I'd worked for... so I can only imagine how you felt when you had to have knee surgery. That is so so hard. You look like your doing really well though!
I just graduated from college and am very excited to be able to sleep at night now rather than pull homework all-nighters! lol. It's a very exciting concept and I think it's going to help me with my fitness goals! I'm rededicating and hopefully we can help each other keep motivated :). 1615 days ago
I haven't been on sparkpeople as much as I should be. This summer has been hectic, but I still have been active and losing weight. Even though I gained back up to 121.6 from my birthday week. But, that's OK. I will lose it again. When September comes, I will be much more determined and driven to get out on my 120s completely. I would love to reach between 112-115. I learned that the best way to maintain your weight is to pick a 3-5 pound range to stay in. So I'm hoping to stay between 112-115. But I will figure it out when the time comes. Right now, I will focus on maintaining then lose the weight in Sept.

I was stuck between 123-125 lbs for over a month. I started going to the gym since mid-Feb and haven't lost any weight. I think it was because I was eating enough calories to maintain my current weight, not lose weight. So I started tracking my caloric intake yesterday and I'm finally back to my lowest weight: 122.2. I'm 0.2 pounds away from losing 40 pounds! :) I'm hoping I reach 120 by the end of March.
What helped me lose lots of weight is zig zagging my calories. I eat more calories on my active days and less calories on my less active days. It helps me avoid hitting plateaus. I realized that I have to adjust your caloric intake every 10 pounds or so... because the more you are closer to your goal weight, the more harder it is to lose weight.
Since I'm about 7-10 pounds away from my goal weight, it's getting much harder to lose weight so I started tracking my caloric intake so I can make sure I get there before summer!
