My Journey

My goal is to lose 150 lbs., but I'm thinking it might be easier to think in 20 lb. increments; so for now, all I'm thinking is I want to lose 20 lb. which will take me below the 300 lb. mark.

I chose my profile picture because there is a lot more to me than I show the world.

My Goals:
Ultimately I'd like to lose 130-150 lbs., but I'm trying it in 20 lb. increments. Maybe it will be easier?

My Program:
Tracking what I eat in SP. Going to try walking on a treadmill.

Personal Information:
I'm a grandma originally from California, now in Utah. Work as a secretary. Passionate about my family, both here and long gone (I'm a genealogist). Love reading, history, knitting and trivia. Notice none of my interests are "active" ones...part of my problem I'm sure.

Well, started on Jun 11, 2011 and didn't think it would take me a year to lose the first 20#. My first goal was 20# and as of yesterday I had lost 19.6# so I'll calling that good. I've been on and off SparkPeople, depending on my mood but I'm energized again because I'm under 300# and have been for awhile. I'm looking forward to losing my next 20# and hoping it won't take me another year.

Received some resistance bands for Christmas and am trying to work them into an exercise program for myself. My treadmill is out of commission for awhile. Any suggestions would be welcome.

emoticon Welcome to the 300+team. 300 is such a BIG number but if we persevere, focus and motivate one another we can reach our goals!
We have so much of life ahead of us and it is so much better to work on ourselves and reach for our goals.
We can do it-- we are worth the effort!
All we can do is take it one day, one bite, one pound at a time.
I am looking forward to supporting you in your quest for better health and a happier future.
