Lean and Mean in 2013
My name is Cyndi. I'm 40 years old, married for 19 years, with a 17 year old son. I work in the not-for-profit industry at a job I absolutely love. I have gained about 120 lbs during the past 20 years that I want to take off again. I remember a different person back then. My name is Cyndi. I'm 40 years old, married for 19 years, with a 17 year old son. I work in the not-for-profit industry at a job I absolutely love. I have gained about 120 lbs during the past 20 years that I want to take off again. I remember a different person back then. Someone who loved to go for long walks or bike rides, who wasn't afraid to go on a ride at the fair because the bar might not close over my belly, and I just felt so much better. I have spent my adult life taking car of my son who I love with all my heart. He's a wonderful kid and I'm so proud of him. I have also spent a lot of time taking care of my hubby who has suffered from kidney problems, leg and knee issues, and recently had a quadruple by-pass. I have focused the past few years on my education and career, and have now achieved the position I have been working so hard for. Now I need to focus on taking care of myself, and becoming the strong, active, happy person I know I can be.

My Goals:
My first goal is to lose 10% of my body weight before I turn 41 on April 6. That's 28 pounds. I have a pair of jeans and a t-shirt that I bought too small to motivate me to lose the weight. I want to wear them out for dinner on my birthday. I also want to get back into cross training to build my strength and endurance.
My Program:
Now that I'm not commuting 2 hours a day anymore, I have time to meal plan and prepare food at home. I will sit down once per week and plan my meals for the week, pack my lunches and make my breakfasts the night before so there are no excuses. I am bringing my treadmill out of storage so that I can start walking while I watch TV in the evenings. I have also set up my Wii again to do my Zumba and Biggest Loser workouts. I plan to cycle through different workouts every day so that I keep my body guessing about what's coming next! Sparkpeople strength training plans are an awesome addition to the mix too.
