My name is Sheila and I just moved to Texas with my husband, Fred, my son Jeff and our dog, Max. I am a 70 something who has had major surgery earlier this year. I recovered from that and a badly sprained ankle so I had a lot of sedentary time followed by a major move to the DFW Metroplex area. We moved here to take care of my 97 yr. old Dad. I need to lose 16 lbs. and have healthier cardiovascular stamina. I'm learning to back up my priorities with daily exercise. I am exercising again and eating fruit daily. I look forward to hearing from you about what is working for you as well as your successes and challenges..

My Goals:
My goal is to lose 16 lbs., live a more active lifestyle and & be able to wear a size 10!
Lose 2 lbs. per week until I reach my 26 lb. weight loss goal
Maintain a healthy weight and more active lifestyle.

My Program:
My plan is to do the following:

Track all food & fitness with SparkPeople Trackers.
Do 30 minutes of cardio 5 days per week.
Do 30 minutes of Strength Training 3-4 days per week.

Personal Information:
I live in a rural community northwest of Ft. Worth. I oversee the care of my 97 yr. old father who lives in Assisted Living here in Texas. We are currently unpacking boxes from a cross country move to Texas from Virginia. I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

Have a home in a warm climate near the shore

    Hi Just checking in to see how you are and how the weight loss is coming. Wondering if you will make your Sep 30 goal. I am 3.4 lbs from MY goal which I set for myself and not what someone or something thinks I should weigh. I am feeling lighter and healthier but am a little apprehensive about the maintaining because I haven't been successful before. This time I have changed my attitude and have not looked at loosing the weight as being on a diet but rather thinking of it as a lifestyle change. I've joined a Maintenance Team and have been reading many many blogs!

    Hope all is well at your end.

    Yes it's a very fun dance exercise program but it shows you step by step - and you will feel the calories burning : )
