My name is Sheila and I just moved to Texas with my husband, Fred, my son Jeff and our dog, Max. I am a 70 something who has had major surgery earlier this year. I recovered from that and a badly sprained ankle so I had a lot of sedentary time followed by a major move to the DFW Metroplex area. We moved here to take care of my 97 yr. old Dad. My weight and health needs serious improvement. I need to lose 22 lbs. and have healthier cardiovascular stamina. I also need to lose the excuses and get very serious about my health. I am looking forward to exercising again and eating healthy. I look forward to hearing from you about what is working for you as well as your successes and challenges as we journey toward better health together.

My Goals:
My goal is to lose 26 lbs., live a more active lifestyle and & be able to wear a size 10!
Lose 2 lbs. per week until I reach my 26 lb. weight loss goal
Maintain a healthy weight and more active lifestyle.

My Program:
My plan is to do the following:

Track all food & fitness with SparkPeople Trackers.
Do 30 minutes of cardio 5 days per week.

Personal Information:
I live in a rural community northwest of Ft. Worth. I oversee the care of my 97 yr. old father who lives in Assisted Living here in Texas. We are currently unpacking boxes from a cross country move to Texas from Virginia. I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

    Yes it's a very fun dance exercise program but it shows you step by step - and you will feel the calories burning : )

    Our vet gave us our food scale. LOL. I would like to have a better one but free is good. I am always having to work on portion control too. That is chiefly why I weigh. I must admit I'm fairly disappointed when I see the serving size weighed out on many things. But it does teach me that some foods are calorie heavy and oil and butter are certainly some of them. I make my own salad dressings in a jar and add a little water to them to cut back on the oil. They are not quite as silky rich but still taste good. Don't feel bad. I'm a nurse who did some diet counseling and even I mess up a lot. I can't trust myself to eyeball something. Obviously my mind tricks me and I'm too generous. Weighing food keeps me honest.
