Changing My Life

Heya! I'm Meg. I've recently lost over 50 pounds since the Summer of 2009. I was tired of always complaining about my weight and looks, so I decided to do something about it in a healthy way. I don't look at the way I eat as a "diet;" I see it as a way of life. My new goals are to keep the weight off, and to gain some muscle.

My Goals:
I set small goals, like losing a couple pounds per month. My first goal weight was 200, my second 180, and my third 170. Now that I've made it to my goal weight, I'm going to work on toning up my body to get rid of the awkward fat left on my thighs, butt, arms, and abs.

My Program:
I'm trying to stay away from snacking on bad junk food, and I'm trying to work out daily. I'm on the South Beach diet. NO FAST FOOD, unless it's a very, very rare thing. And drinking a lot of water. I gave up soda--even diet soda.

Personal Information:
I'm currently a grad student, working on my M.A. in literature.

Other Information:
I love to read and write! I also enjoy anime, manga, and video games.

Megan,
Remember back in 2010 you lost weight and I needed the inspiration to do so as well. You were there for me. You introduced me to Sparkpeople. I think losing weight together really brought us closer. If you need any kind of help I am always here for you. If you have a Gym membership and can bring a buddy I will come along if you need a workout buddy. I have all these sidewalks here and a huge basement now so I do not need a gym membership-but if I had one I would want to bring you. Not that I am using that senario as a way to get you to bring me :P just saying I am here for you. Even if you just want to go to a park and walk with someone. Anything. You are my friend and always will be. I am eagerly watching you work hard to lose the weight (we BOTH put back on) and cheering you on!

GO MEG! I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT! Let's make it for good this time :P

I sent you Sparkmail!
I had steamed diced potatoes, carrots, and spinach with one slice of turkey bacon for flavor. I spiced it with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. It was delicious. I needed carbs and veggies so... voila!

How have you been? Today is the first day of Spring! I Want to ride my bike tomorrow. Going to figure out a location to ride it to as a goal :D
