I'm Marie Anne, retired Marine who now carries way too many pounds around, and staring diabetes in the face. I joined SparkPeople a couple of years ago then stopped using it for some reason, so I'm back to give it another try. My Goals:
To eat healthier to avoid diabetes, get my cholesterol down to decent number and to drop 50 lbs; more would be a true blessing!

My Program:
I lost over 50 lbs easily on a low-carb plan a few years ago, but succumbed to temptation and I'm right back where I started from.

I need to stay low-carb because of diabetes, but don't want to follow as strict a regimen as I did before. I'm striving for that happy medium

I plan on some form of exercise at least 5 days a week.

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in NH but joined the Marine Corps straight out of high school when I turned 18. I served more than 21 years so have lived all over!

I've lived several places since, but presently in south/central Ohio.

Thanks. After tracking all the food I ate, I had 2,255 calories today...and still didn't meet my protein goal. Protein is so hard for me because the things I like that include protein (peanut butter, nuts, pinto beans) have a lot of calories per serving too.
*sigh*

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I do NOT eat enough protein nor do I meet my fiber guidelines for the day. When I run my food report for the end of the day, over half is from carbs! Thank you for taking the time to give me some GREAT advice. Have a nice evening!!
