Living Healthy & Strong With MALT Lymphoma
I'm starting again, but this time as a different person. I have cancer. It's a kind that can't be cured, just treated. I need to make myself as healthy and strong as a person with cancer can be. I will be taking steroids off and on when I'm having treatments, and I have already found that I gain weight with that. The steroids can't be helped, but my eating too much can be! I'm going to be working all this out as I go along. A new year, a new me, a new start. Here we go!

My Goals:
My goals are to eat more healthy natural foods, and to become a strong healthy person mentally and physically.
My Program:
I am going to start replacing the junk I have been eating too much of again with more fruits, nuts and whole grains. I walk my sheltie Willow a couple miles a day. I am going to add a little more running to our routine (she needs it too!) I have given up diet sodas and artificial sweeteners since finding out I have cancer. Unfortunately juices are much more fattening!
Personal Information:
I live in Maryland now, formerly from Florida. It was quite a change, but I love the seasons. A bit of a tree-hugger. Trying to live more in tune with Nature. I am caregiver to my 88-year-old mother and work evenings. I found out on Sept 27, 2012 that I have MALT Lymphoma, basically a cancer that can't be cured but can be treated. Throws everything into a whole new perspective.
