Moving Forward

We all move forward in life, one way or the other. It's how we move forward that's our choice.
For the past 12 months I liken my moving forward to a mechanical moving sidewalk, like at the airport. I'm going forward but not by my own energy.
Today I step off the moving sidewalk and choose to move forward using my own energy.

Personal Information:
My name is Laurie and I am in my 50's. It's not my age that sends me scrambling for weight lose in 2012 but the desire to actively work on being as healthy as I possibly can. I married Steve 30 years ago and he remains to be my best friend. We have 2 great children, Matthew and Amanda. (AMANDALADY is a sparkpeople, too) I enjoy living in Minnesota most of the year. Winter can get a bit tough. Not because of the cold and snow, but because of the lack of sunshine.

Not planting yet - predictions were for temps in the mid 20s last night. so waiting a bit longer. I have been mowing, trimming and spreading wood chips. There are a few places I am putting in container gardens but have to put down plastic and wood chip before deciding which containers will go where. Will probably wait until I get back from Laughlin and Vegas (June 10) to put plants in.

Our Relay is being held July 15 in Coleraine. This will be the fifth year my youngest son and I have participated in this one. Prior to that, we took part in the one held in Nashwauk (now combined with the one in Coleraine as the Itasca County Relay) for several years. I originally got involved when I began a career in newspaper (1993) and we promoted and covered the event.

Like so many others, I have had too many loved ones battle cancer with too many losing the battle; and would love to see it a thing of the past.

I hope we survive.... emoticon My daughter also has ODD...which is hard to deal with sometimes but life does go on emoticon
We do have 2 camping trips booked so far. 10 days at the end of July to Aspen Beach and 1 in the middle of July for 4 days at Buffalo Lake...Both beautiful but Buffalo doesn't have showers...hence the short stay... emoticon
