No More Excuses....

Well, here I go again. Hopefully I'll hang in there long enough this time.

Well, here I go again. Hopefully I'll hang in there long enough this time.

Not that I havent been through this before. The thing I struggle with the most, my weight, seems to be a never-ending battle for me, as it is for practically everyone else at Spark People. I have a hard time trying to figure out how I can be so organized and in control of every other aspect of my life, except for my one downfall, food, my preference of high calorie foods, and not using them against my own self.

My name is Laurie. Wife, mother, sister, and friend. I work two jobs and have been working two jobs for 11 years. I will probably work two jobs until I retire. That's okay though, I like both of them, and staying busy usually works to my advantage with my ongoing war of the weight loss.

I originally became a Spark member in 2004. At first I was so driven by everyone here and all the good advice that goes with it, but then a few things occurred in 2007 and I complete lost focus.

It's now 2010 and even though it's been a rough couple of years in the making, I think I'm ready to do this. Focus and stress is usually my downfall but it's worth another shot. So here goes.....

My Goals:
My main goal obviously is to lose weight, and gain self-esteem and confidence. I want to be happier with myself.



My Program:
Counting calories seems to be the best way for me, so I am limiting my intake to 1500 per day, and see where that gets me.

I will take baby steps this time, instead of going at my weight goal full force.

I will reward myself when I do good, and not torture myself when I slip up. As long as the slip ups don't prolong themselves.

Personal Information:
I'm a married mom from CT. I have an 20 year old daughter, who is my driving force.

I work two jobs and have for quite sometime.

Other Information:
Other than being borderline workaholic, I read when I have time and can stay awake for more than a few pages.

I enjoy spending time with my daughter and family.

I'm hoping to find more hobbies as my transformation goes on.

I was just dropping in and noticed you haven't been very active either like me. How are you doing? I just recently came back to Spark .... I gained 22 lbs in the interim BACK, but am back to give it another shot. Hope this finds you well. There is a bunch of us coming back... wanna join us?
