70ft. Under the South Pacific
Shared Food & Fitness Trackers
It's now or never! I've hit my mid 30's and my doctor has said now is the time to adjust my lifestyle as a retired athlete. Since I stopped competitive figure skating, 30 pounds snuck up on me. Now to work it off at a diffent age and time in my life, it's a whole other program!
"The difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones is how you use them."
"Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're probably right."
"Remember that fear and limitations are often just an illusion."
~ I am healthy, but my goal is to get extra fit, firm, and fabulous to enjoy all of my activities that my husband and I share- surfing, scuba diving, running, traveling, etc!
Organic, vitamins, fruits, veggies, lean proteins, good fats, and I drink my water!
At least 45-60 min of any exercise a day.
8+ hours of sleep a night, 1 full day off a week from exercise.
Weigh in & measurements.
Surf, scuba dive, figure skate, run, swim, snowboard!

"Beautiful Woman Award! Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the wall of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out"

Thank you for the skates and the comment on my page.
You asked what I was working on and the answer is complicated. I passed the Adult Pre-Bronze test at the end of grad school (when adult figure skating was taking off and the adult tests were still new). Then I graduated, started working, had 2 kids and spent about 10 years off the ice. I've been skating several times a month since September and it's starting to come back to me. I'm now working to regain the scratch spin, salchow and back 3-turns that I used to be able to do.
I am getting a little bit of coaching - I got bored watching my 6 year old's learn-to-skate classes, so signed myself up for the Basic 8 class (the highest offered in the session with his classes) figuring that a review of basic skills wouldn't hurt. I lucked into a group of teens who were doing very well, and a coach who was willing to teach to the level of the students she had - so we started the skills in Freestyle 1 and the teacher is giving me harder combinations and skill appropriate pointers.
I've got my fingers crossed...we may have convinced the rink to offer a group freestyle class during the basic skills session starting in January - If at least 3 of the 6 of us enroll, the class is a "go" and I've already signed up.

Hello, I recently joined the Loose to Skate SparkTeam. Glad to make your acquaintance. Do you have any insights why the skating community seems to be so small here? With this many active people - you'd think a lot of them would skate.
