Changing my Life

Hi there everyone, I am back this is my 3rd time on Spark. They say 3 times a charm!. But I have decided that I really need to make some LIFETIME Changes. I really feel that my will power to want the change and feel good is a whole lot stronger than not wanting to go through the changes that will make me feel like a new person.
I am coming 47 years old no I am not excessively overweight but when you buy a bunch of nice new Jeans that don't fit after only 6 mo and the jeans you are able to ...
I am coming 47 years old no I am not excessively overweight but when you buy a bunch of nice new Jeans that don't fit after only 6 mo and the jeans you are able to wear are getting tight to me that's a strong signal to get back on track and do something about it now.
The other thing that was plaguing me was my smoking I have smoked for a total of 35 years within that time I quit once for 6 weeks, I quite once for 3 days, I quite once for 7 months, I quit again for 3 days.A lot of quitting times over the course of those years an each time I went back smoking I smoked more then I did before I quit. So for the last year I have been increasingly getting shorter of breath I have to go up 4 flights of stairs at work that became a very big struggle my chest was just screaming in pain after getting to the top of those stairs then I started to notice the pains ever so often in my chest when I was having that smoke or shortly there after and I said this is it.I want more out of my life then an early grave and not being able to be there at the weddings of Grandchildren. I have so many places I want to travel to still and I am only coming on 47 what the hell am I doing to myself pending 200.00 a month just to get myself to an early grave. So I went to my doctor and said I am so ready this time please help me. I started Champix( Canadian Version) On Jan 11th Jan 18th was my First full day of being a non-smoker and I am SO GRATEFUL and SO PROUD of myself that I did it. Don't get me wrong I know I have only begun and I know that I have a long road ahead of yet. But this time I made my announcement I didn't keep it quite in case I failed. I live with my 26 year old son who is a non-smoker and gives tons of support, plus I have a wonderful circle of of close friends that are supporting me too and guess what out of my circle of friends I was the only smoker. I started feeling guilty when we would go out somewhere and I would have to go outside for a smoke all the time. So that's where I am at today. I know there is tons more support here at spark and I am looking forward to being a Healthier Happier me.

Congratulations on quitting smoking. I quit smoking last June and it was a difficult process but we're proof that it can be done. I read a book called Easyway To Stop Smoking. I read the last page of that book on June 28th 2013 and haven't touched a cigarette since. I used to LOVE smoking. I made my own cigarettes so they didn't cost nearly as much and didn't have nearly the amount of chemicals in them that the store bought smokes do, but they were killing me just the same. I hope you are still doing well, but if you ever need any encouragement don't hesitate to contact me!
