The left one is me in August, right around around 200lbs ... very disappointed when I saw the pic :(

Law school graduation day -- very sad to see how much my face had filled out :(

Getting rid of the excuses, getting back to me!
I just read my Sparkpage homepage note from when I was a senior in college complaining about a 40 lb gain since senior year of high school, and here I am a few months out of law school and I am even heavier! It's not for lack of trying -- I got down to about 170 my first semester of law school (only 20 pounds from my goal) because I changed to a non-processed food, pescetarian (no meat, just fish) "diet" and trained for a 1/2 marathon. But after the 1/2 marathon, I started making excuses for myself. I stopped running as often, started eating more processed foods, went to happy hours and out to eat.... and we all know how that story ends! In the past year alone I have been on Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers and have hired two different personal trainers! I keep going back to that first semester of law school and thinking, what was different? And I've come to accept what it was -- I made a decision that I was going to change my lifestyle and I stopped giving myself excuses (lack of time, PCOS, bad trainers, bad coaches, etc.). The excuses piled on one at a time in law school and I am sure my family, friend, and ex-bfs all got sick of hearing them! Bottom line? I have not taken on the responsibility for getting myself to where I need to be. This time around I am going to return to my approach back in that first semester of law school -- make a lifestyle change to think about food differently and exercise consistently. I think returning to that way of thinking and checking in daily with SparkPeople, I can get to where I want to be by Spring! I have a few milestone points along the way (see below) and then if all goes well, I can say "I have arrived" sometime in March 2012. Wish my luck :) I'll be sure to keep you all posted along the way! Milstone goals: 10K race November 24th -- Wear bikini on cruise December 19th -- Buy a sexy birthday dress January 20th -- Half marathon February 8th -- GOAL in March -- Weight loss tracker: 200 - 190 ----- Almost there! 190 - 180 ----- 180 - 170 ----- 170 - 165 ----- 165 - 160 ----- 160 - 155 ----- 155 - 151 ----- Goal - 150 -----
