Just decided I'm going to attempt to run the Green Bay 1/2 marathon and a few other runs this year. I would love to get my body into better shape and increase my endurance to be able to complete the 13.3 mile run in a respectable time :-)
I really have no clue how to train so I have just been running long distances about twice a week with a day of weightlifting in between and .. if i am motivated enough.. i may hop on the elliptical machine from time to time.
My name is Laura, I am from Green Bay Wi. I love adventure and traveling! Unfortunately I also LOVE food...which is why i feel like my weight is a constant battle! I'm excited to start running more and I am hoping that that..along with a better diet will allow me to loose weight.

All right! Great to see you on sparkpeople! There are lots of clubs to join and I know there are running clubs. There are challenges - on the fitness pages for 5K, 25K, etc. Go there for more help. Aunt Yo is on here also - but not much yet. YOISOK is her sparkname. I'm glad you guys are here - you'll keep me accountable. It would be so easy to forget about a healthy livestyle while I'm out there working. About everything you need should be on your START page. Your friend feed will let you know everything that your "friends" are doing. Going and making comments on your clubs will help you make friends also - and get even more advice. Good luck.
