Daughter Nikki and Steven...getting more sleep these days.
Tiaras for Twins. Breathcatching beauties!
Christmas 2009, Andre & me with all three granddaughters...happy times.
Hi...I have many dreams for achieving a healthy second half of my life...I am committed to doing this without a 'diet' but with a plan and a commitment to eat nutritiously, move more, including push aways...from food and the table, and finding time to enjoy new creative outlets, time with family and friends...
Who knows what else I might explore or dream about...like that garden or the painting and photography I hope to improve.. I came to being a grandma late...but adore my three granddaughters: a soon to be 11 yr old (Mia); and 2 1/2 year old twins (Sophia & Pescha)...and my 2 daughters (Rachel & Nikki). I've been married to Andre for 45 years.
Food seems to be the answer to too many of my personal and social relationships...While I can always find time to eat, I rarely find time to walk or move...
Spend much of my life in a chair either in meetings or at the computer...and when I come home from work I jump back on the computer again...
I may need to go lightly on this website for awhile, since my computer addiction is nearly as great as my food addiction. In addition to work-related computer work which I now do at home, I also love Facebook games like Scrabble, Farmville, Cafe World...you name it, I've tried it.
Looking forward to others who face the same challenges with weight, and for insights that come through your messages and blogs. I just bought The Spark book, thinking that might be a good way to lay the whole program out so I can strategize about when and how to proceed with various steps.
Also reading The Happiness Project, with a month-by-month approach to working on my own attitudes and behaviors that interfere with my feeling happy, fulfilled, and blessed.
My goal is to live a healthy life; food, exercise, sleep, and fun...time for family, work, & self. Physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being are all important. Weight loss (or release) is one goal, strengthening my body is a second; eating fresh foods and just enough is a third...increasing energy for work and fun is another...
I am Priscilla Joyce Miller Kimboko, aged 65, born July 24, 1944 in Salem, OR (2nd of 7 children) and a 4th generation Oregonian on my father, Ernie Miller's, side. My mother, Vivian, moved to Oregon from Michigan in her teens...I now live in West Michigan and work at Grand Valley State University. I've lived in Oregon (36 years), Congo (4 years), Colorado (18 yrs) and Michigan (9+ years)...I've been married now for 45 years to Andre and have two wonderful, loving and beautiful adult daughters, Rachel and Nikki.
Priscilla is not a name that lends itself to great nicknames, so I go by my full name, except for some family members who call me Pris or Prisca!

Hi Laughingrose I hope you are doing really good today. We all have the eating problem or we would not be here. You sound like you have a great personality, but you need to like yourself more. You have a lot of good things going on in your life and a lot to get healthy for. Keep your chin up and really read the Spark book. Keep you chin up, at least you have a job and there a lot of that do not because of age and that sucks, but I will not let that get me down. God has been good to me and my family and ya know I am a good person and I deserve to be healthy and so do you. Keep up the good work and remember we are here to help you get through the tough parts of getting healthy. Have a great day.
