At first I thought I just wanted to lose 20 lbs. Now that I've done that I realized I can do more.
Then I thought I just wanted to get to that number that would take me out of the 'overweight' category.
Now I know I want to give myself a 10 to 15 lb margin away from being on the border of healthy and overweight. I began my weight loss journey February 2009 and hope to reach my goal by the end of the year.
Right now I go to the gym 4 to 5 days a week. I mainly focus on cardio but I know I need to incorporate strength training soon.

Thank you for your comment on my blog. Yes, I am fortunate to live in a safe area. It's not without crime (no urban area is!) but I feel safe during daylight and evenings, though I wouldn't walk around late-late alone... anywhere! Thanks for the reminder.
